Taking Risks: Shrink Back or Press Forward?

“His palms are sweaty; knees weak arms are heavy.

There’s vomit on his shirt already; mom’s spaghetti. – Emineum”

Have you ever lost yourself in a moment? Have you ever taken a risk so serious that others around you think you have flipped your wig?

Risk: exposure to the chance of injury or loss; a hazard ordangerous chance: It’s not worth the risk.- http://www.dictionary.com

I hope for the love of God, that you are choosing to take risks in your life that others around you would not agree with. Life is not about living up to someone else’s expectations. Life is not about trying to please others. Whether you believe that there is a God that we will answer to and a heaven to live in or not, I think that we can all agree that there is a selflessness in love, that expression of it. When we take our energy towards something and show our love through actions, people can stand behind that kind of leadership.

You may want to save the world with green initiatives. For me, it is child sexual abuse and emotional abuse. For you it could be homelessness, or physical sickness. For  some it may be racial equality or corporate bullying.

We all have been given a purpose for our passions, a reason for our relentlessness. Spend less time defending your calling and more time taking the calculated risk to be the change you want to see in the world.

BE. Extraordinary,

“We all have been given a purpose for our passions.” I like this line and I agree. Some of us will find that purpose and others will be lost. Good post.
