TRUTH
The truth burns inside me
As though it were lies
That’s the thing about abuse
It has its own life
Your life
Is its life
But no one sees it
Save you
And you walk about
All normal
Until
Something random happens
A child cries
A song plays
Someone touches you
Just so
And the cells of your body cringe
Or quail
Or cower quietly
As you dissolve inside
Your hidden truth
Exposed
But only to you
Wondering where does your truth lie
When you’ve been told your truth is lies
