Moving Forward: Child Sexual Abuse Prevention Month in Review 2012

I want to start May 2012 with a virtual gratitude to every person who has liked, re-blogged, commented and shared their stories because you have found inspiration in this blog.

Ressurrection Graves hugging someone at her book signing!

The above picture is of someone who came to my book signing that I knew from elementary school. It was very cool to get this amazing surprise from D.

It seemed like the support really poured in through The ObamaCrat.com , Kotev, Sherline, Bnewvision, and many others who I encourage you to check out. An easy way to find some of the most wonderful WordPress followers is to go through my website and click on the Gravatars, which are located at the end of each post.

As a side bar, if you have a wordpress blog, people can not find you if you do not have that blog linked to your Gravatar image. You will have to go to Gravatar, sign in, and add your Facebook, Twitter, and WordPress Blogs for example, so that people will know how to connect with you. This will increase your page views on your blog site. And help you to make positive connections.

April 2012 we dedicated National Child Abuse Prevention Month to sharing stories of people who have overcome horrific child sexual abuse, sexual assault and molestation at the hands of people that they trusted.

We even developed a campaign MAKE CHILD SEXUAL ABUSE A FELONY that has gained phenomenal support. If you have not signed it, please do so now. The link will take you to Change.org

This month, I will continue to focus on making child sexual abuse a felony.

I will focus my energy this month on sharing my message and bringing them here so that they can read the stories of the following highlighted stories:

Additionally, I know that I have been writing a lot so you may have missed a few posts. I would like for you to go to your email inbox, or click on the April 2012 archives to find stories this month (to the right) that you haven’t read so that you can share or comment on.

PLEASE DONATE A RE-BLOG FOR

WHY CHILD SEXUAL ABUSE GROOMING MUST BECOME A FELONY

When you donate your re-blog to the above link, you help us to gain signatures for our petition that will help to make child sexual abuse a felony.

It is not enough to tell stories of great sadness or great triumph, we must do something. Please join us in gaining the attention of legislative officials on the Federal level.

I am going to be catching up on my own reading of your blogs, and information that can help me to take next steps in advocating for child sexual abuse awareness, prevention and healing. I will be submitting my resume, bio and speaking topics for conferences too. Please send all of your positive energy.

I dedicate this video to you because sometimes we can become consumed by who we try to become to appease others. Losing who you are could mean compromising a romantic relationship or not following your heart in what you are called to do and be in this life because someone else has a different vision for you short or long term.

As we are moving forward this month, I want to encourage you to remember who you are in your core being. You will need to make adjustments mentally, spiritually, and maybe physically to become what you see in yourself so that your reflection can be accurate.

As I make adjustments to this end, with evaluating myself, I will hold you in the same space of positive affirmation and prayer.

Be relentless. Never compromise.

BE. Extraordinary!

Peace,

Enjoy your time off! I’m researching some places to do a speaking engagement for you! Much love!

More true words were never spoken…and the best place to discover yourself, who you really are and what you’re all about, is by yourself….alone. One year spent alone – especially for survivors of sexual abuse – allows your body the glorious luxury of its own integrity and there is no substitute for that. To be energetically, emotionally, physically able to experience life in the purity that is Your Self is both healing and revealing and perhaps most importantly, allows your love for you to grow.

  3. Thank you Sister Res, for being such a blessing to help others realized that there is beauty in the ashes and that the past cannot hold you from your bright future.
    God Bless!
