How do I feel during a massage? Many people ask this question because they have an assumed answer in their mind. For men, they immediately assume that massage therapists must be aroused by rubbing someone down with oils and creams.
In this article, I am going to share personally what I, Ressurrection feel when I give an amazing massage. I have been a massage therapist for five years and it is therapeutic and beneficial to me as much as it is the client.
At first I was wondering if I was the only one that feels so strongly about the effect of massage on the therapist. After doing thousands of massages, I have concluded that my bodies’ natural effect of performing massage is to respond to the energy that is in the room.
When a client comes in, and trusts me immediately, does not talk a lot, and completely relaxes, it allows me to unfold like a flower offering creativity to my techniques, and unleashed power to be liberated in performing massage therapy.
When a client wants to talk, sometimes because they are nervous, I allow it but I do not recommend it. Clients who really want the absolute best out of the massage should embrace the silence as an internal meditation and fall into their own subconscious mind. There you will be awake but relaxed, allowing the blood and oxygen to flow in your body.
I love massage! I love every aspect of this healing art that offers therapeutic results both immediately and after a few sessions. People come in with a variety of needs spiritually, emotionally, mentally, and physically. I discern the needs of my client, and respond according to their needs. If I take care of their needs, they receive their desires which is complete relaxation and a sense of euphoria.
I haven’t exactly answered your question yet huh? How do I feel during the massage? I go into my own trance. As I mentioned in the above paragraph, I may discern the needs of the client, and with wisdom and my educational training, along with a spiritual guidance, I can navigate through your body through touch. I zone out, and sometimes I can get myself to a point of such relaxation that I have to come out of my coma and take a few deep breaths, and then recommit.
Although the massage schools have on their national exam that the right answer to the question, “Should you keep you hands on the body at all times” as yes, my professor Victor used to say that was a rule that needed to be changed. He concluded that when you give all of your energy, you may need to step away from the body to reload.
For me, massage therapy is a healing practice, and what happens in a room with dim lighting, candles, and soft music is that when the room is still and only my energy is changing the atmosphere, I can feel the cerebral spinal fluid flow through the client’s body. That is the fluid that flows from the brain and down the spine.
I can feel muscles that are under muscles, their shapes. I can feel pulses, energy, and trigger points (my specialty). When I zone out, I feel like you do when you’re on the table. It is a high that I can not describe. I have had to catch my balance before.
Here is a quick testimonial while you continue reading:
Touch is an amazing way to connect with a spouse, friend, or family member. We do it to greet strangers by a hug or standard hand shake. In another article I mention the importance of touch. However, massage therapy is a health care profession. I am a health care provider and your thoughts about massage therapy should not immediately render sex as the purpose or intention of either party.
Massage Therapy has been found to be the best source of therapy for Fibromyalgia sufferers. In addition, massage therapists who are licensed and certified have attended school. I personally have an Associate’s Degree in Massage Therapy.
I love to massage because like the feeling that you experience when you have one on one time with God, massage offers me an opportunity to connect in a way that makes me high. When my clients get off of the table and say, that is the best massage I have ever had in my life, I usually know it before they say it because I know that place that I go to, to offer that type of massage.
Massage has tremendous healing power, and it fills the client and the therapist alike. So here are some tips if you get a massage from me:
- Have no expectation
- Do not do any work- just lay relaxed on the table
- Save your questions for the beginning or the end
- Do not think about the massage itself
- Be open to receive
If you do all of these things, I will feel like giving you the best massage that I can give. The energy in the room will support my work.

I agree with everything you have written! As a massage therapist I’ve concluded that most people don’t realize that energy is tangible. You put what I was thinking into words perfectly! Blessings!
