And, we’re back for the second part of Whip my Hair! This is a unique look at Ressurrection’s Hair Care regimen including the kinds of products that she uses and her trial and error hair issues over the years.
Organic Root Stimulator shampoo is amazing however, I found myself wasting money because after I shampooed, I would use the white colored head dressing that is supposed to be used for lock maintenance. The lock and twist gel did not work for my hair. It did not hold and it caused me dry itchy scalp. Keep in mind that this is simply my personal experience. I have found all of their other products to work wonderfully, but I haven’t always been able to afford them. If money were no option Organic Root Stimulator products, with the exception of the Lock and Twist Gel would be my preference. However, it’s contender for shampoo is definitely the Head and Shoulder 2 in 1 in my household.
To grease my scalp I use all kinds of natural products like aloe, carrot oil, coconut oil. I have even used 100% Shea Butter, but never use Beeswax.
When I first started my locks everyone encouraged me to use Beeswax but I found that years of using it caused my hair to look disgusting and it was filled with lint and other debree that was coiled into locked hair.
Beeswax is much like Vaseline, it draws lint and dust and other particles to your skin. I have now out grown all of the hair that I had in the first few years, and it is cut off, but this lesson is critically important to maintaining beautiful locks.
What do I use you ask? You know that white bottle with the two B’s that sit on the top of it in blue? BB grease? It is green, and has a smoothness to it. I love that stuff.
For years, I have used 100% Indian Hemp. I love it! I will say that it is thick, and the BB green grease as I affectionately call it, it lighter. I like the lighter grease better. The Indian Hemp is so thick it reminds you of Vaseline or Beeswax. It is a good product, but thick! My absolute all time favorite is *drum roll* Nature’s Blessing. I was introduced to Nature’s Blessing by a man, a beautiful lyrically acrobatic emcee with a deep, sexy voice and hair like God.
I am shaking my own head on this one ladies. He was crazy, but he was absolutely beautiful, and he would get his hair done in styles. His hair stayed freshly twisted and healthy. He was from NY and DC so he has the perfect accent. Needless to say, I was mesmerized. Microphone check, 1, 2!
Stay tuned for Part Three of Whip My Hair… I know you want me to finish this story!
