Beyonce’s Best thing I never had and the POWER of SAYING NO!

I love the harmony of anything Beyonce. There is no doubt that this woman can sing. I love that she’s so powerful in the stories that she tells as she crafts the words around her voice.

When I heard this song, I fell deep in love. I teach The Power of Saying NO! and what is The Power of Saying NO! without recognizing the “Good in Good-bye” as Beyonce nails in this song?

Break-ups no doubt hurt. They are not fun. They definitely do not remind me of my best summer, last-minute buzzer shot, cotton candy or my favorite trip. Nope no wonderful things come to mind when you break up with someone who meant so much to you.

The sobering thing for me is that I know that God has made me beautiful, and amazing. Just because that relationship wasn’t a fit, doesn’t mean that there isn’t a lifetime connection waiting for me.

Men are better with breakups than we are for the most part. Of course it depends on the circumstances but, in general they see the many fish in the sea. They are almost openly jovial about their options. Women many times hold on as if it is the little boys last meal in the bible and we can not believe God to feed the five thousand.

You will love again, the right way. You will find a healthy relationship where expressing love doesn’t involved any emotional, verbal or physical abuse. If you are in a domestically violent situation or even an emotionally abusive relationship where you are being treated less than you are worth please listen to this song. I empower you, I charge you to say NO within you first. Say it, until you believe. In the lyrics she says, “Thank GOD I dodged a bullet, I’m so over you, good-looking out!”

In my book, Identity Crisis, Identity Christ Is: A Journey to Love I talk about a relationship that meant so much to me. I thought the guy was the one, and I thought that my heart had literally broken. I felt a physical brokeness and did not think I would come back from that level of pain.

And now, I’m so full of joy. There was so much missing, and often times we try to hold on almost, but like Brandy said, “Almost doesn’t count.”

Today, I’m wishing you strength to say No to a relationship that you know inside may not be the best for you. And to others, who can sit back with me and smile, I am so excited for you as well. Whenever you remove something from your life that could impact God’s will, you open up opportunities that fill up any void you may have thought would come as a result of your boldness. I am proud of you.

BE. Extraordinary,
