Joshua Myers, Assistant Principal and Predator
It is never a good day when someone who present a winning smile, degree and all of the qualifications for teaching, or serving young children turns out to be a Pedophile, or Predator as I more appropriately call all forms of sexual offenders.
Joshua Myers may have had the credentials to be Principal, as he was going to be appointed but I question what the hiring manager, and staff persons that interact with him daily missed. We are in a microwave digital society. When are people going to understand that you can not hire people for a job based on a computerized application process alone. Years ago, interviews were conducted, not to say one wasn’t done here, but the right person for the job may have been someone else with a little less qualification, but not a Predator.
You’ve heard of the old saying, “I was sent to the Principal’s office”, right? I wonder how many children were indeed sent to his office and spent social or consequential time with him.
In the article below which offers details of the events, they mention something that I think is important. He was given a background check.
This man is 29 years old. If you pay close attention to how sexual predators operate, they often offend around people who trust them. Many, like Jerry Sandusky, manage to go their whole lives without one prosecution, until a child is old enough and has enough trauma that speaking out is their salvation from the memories.
I’d like to dispel a myth. A Predator is a predator whether he has a conviction or not. The conviction must take place in your intuition. You must ask critical questions. You can’t go around spreading rumors, but you can follow your heart when things seem normal on the outside but something just doesn’t seem right inside.
Yes people are “innocent until proven guilty” in the world of the judicial system, so they say. However, in my humble opinion too many people are innocent who are given convictions, and too many are guilty who are never given convictions.
But one truth stands in the bible, and among the people, whatever you do will come to the light. Usually God gives you opportunity to correct your mistakes, but when you knowingly continue to frustrate his grace- there will be a time when the truth will leak until it becomes as great body of water. You will drown within your own troubles.
Sexual Predators are characterized as manipulative in speech. They admit partial truths like, “I like to play with little children, in showers, sure!” But, will not admit to rape or sexual misconduct. They do not generally see anything wrong with their disturbing behavior.
I’m encouraging you to stay tuned to this blog as I intend to write about it in depth so that you can learn some of the thought patterns of a predator and protect yourself and the child(ren) around you!
As a second tip, I want every single parent reading this to have a greater presence at school. You need to know every teacher that will come in contact with your child, even if they aren’t teaching them. There’s nothing wrong with an introduction and a smile. Additionally, you should meet the front office staff including principals. If you get a vibe, you can tell your children who to communicate with, and not. It is very important to be present at your child’s school. It creates a different kind of learning and social expectation of your child’s teachers.
The Sentencing:
“While working as an elementary school administrator, Mr. Myers gathered a child porn collection focused on the sexual abuse of young boys and included vile pictures of violent sexual assaults on small children,” said U.S. Attorney Neil MacBride.
“He told an undercover agent that he had sexually assaulted boys as young as nine, and agents found online chats he had with more than 40 individuals involving child pornography, sex with children, and grooming children to be sexually abused. This case is a sobering reminder that a sexual predator is often someone familiar, and we are committed to doing everything in our power to remove these predators from our communities.”
