Obscurity On The Thirteenth Floor: A Poem About Child Sexual Abuse

The part of this poem that gave me flash backs was, “Won’t someone come looking for me?” I remember wondering why no one fought for me. I wondered why things around me were permitted, why my innocence were not protected. I was seen but not heard. I was a burden and was not wanted. I think I took that need to be wanted into my teenage relationships and formed a habit of attracting unhealthy relationships from insecure boys.
