You Are A Survivor Of Child Sexual Abuse

I thought you would enjoy this video of Destiny’s Child. There rendition of Survivor here is sexy and fierce. This is Child Sexual Abuse Awareness Month and honestly if you are still overcoming abuse, you don’t always feel sexy. We have this sense memory part of our brains that can easily identify smells, and those smells can remind you of a perpetrator just as it can remind you of an ex-boyfriend or your mother’s favorite Apple pie.

We are survivors of child sexual abuse, but often surviving is associated with just making it. I hope to reform your thinking today to see surviving as a past tense expression to show how far you have come, and not that it is your present state. Does that make sense?

Let’s celebrate survival (coming out of the abuse) and then let’s be VICTORIOUS!!! We have survived and now are Victors of Child Sexual Abuse!
