UnPack
Unpack so that our journey may begin.
You have arrived at your destination.
Life has started over it seems, please…unpack.
Let your heart out, wear it on your sleeves for me.
Allow me to see so far into you that we are untied by boundaries.
Put Elmer’s glue on us and let’s become one.
I want to stick together in life as best friends.
I want to know when your tears are coming so that I can dry them,
but first unpack.
Put down the weights that cover your heart.
They have taken shelter long enough,
safe distance is fear in disguise,
and while you love me deeply
there is still more to realize.
So….
Unpack.
Take out all of what you’re used to and let’s spread them wide.
Whatever you’ve outgrown you can donate
to someone else’s life,
or discard.
Allow old things to become our past
so that there is anointing for us in our brand new.
Know that we’re moving on and leaving behind what we don’t need
and everyday I dream of ways to love you.
I have total confidence in your future,
and who you plan to become.
I know that we will make music with out heart beats
I don’t fantasize about your potential
I know you’re the one.
So come what feels like hell or high water,
if my feelings ever are unclear,
know that my spirit is connected my love,
I will always unpack and meet your right here.
Let the altar be our special place,
where we cast the world aside.
Let our souls be a reachable space where we collect truth in our eyes.
And we’ll always choose each other
emptied,
detangled
on our bedroom floor,
where we’ll race to unpack
to see who loves who more.
So come what feels like hell or high water,
if my feelings ever are unclear,
know that my spirit is connected my love,
I will always unpack and meet your right here.
